Biswa Bangla Shilpi Haat, New Town, Kolkata

• Initially, 2.56 acre of land provided by the Urban Development Department at Plot No. 5, Central Park, Salt Lake. But due to a PLI pending in the Hon’ble High Court, Kolkata, no permanent construction could be made there and thereafter as approved by the appropriate Authority the Haat was shifted to the Banglar Haat on a plot of 4.5 acre at North of ECO Tourism Park, New Town, Kolkata, set up by WBHIDCO and which was handed over to the Department by WBHIDCO for running the Haat. After remodelling/alteration the Urban Haat is renamed as Biswa Bangla Shilpi Haat and has been functioning since 27.12.2013.
• Infrastructure available : Haat consist of 2 zone Urban and Rural Zone, Bengal Handicrafts Museum, Designer Enclave, Food Court, Live Demonstration 42 stalls, one demonstration centre for musical instruments, One demonstration centre for RCCH , Open space with a capacity to provide space about 150 artisans in fair, VIP Rest Room and lounge, Stage and Auditorium for cultural progarmme, accommodation of artisans in EWS Flats, Garden etc.
